Ancestry Workshop

As part of the Woodstock Remembers WW1-Then and Now project the community were offered two free Ancestry workshops for beginners which was held at The Marlborough C of E School in July 2019.

Participants were able to have a go at researching their family history with the support of Julie Kennedy & Becky Vickers, from the Oxfordshire Family History Society and to see what the latest UK census available can reveal. Ancestry can be used at public libraries but can be an expensive hobby at home unless you really commit to it, so a free session was a good starter.

We had a really interesting time of it in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with Julie and Becky working hard to keep up with all the queries.
