Armed Forces Day Family Event

The last event of our ‘Poppy’ weekend took place on Sunday 30^th June 2019 when SOFO Museum asked if students could help as part of Kids in Museum day. Students were on hand to make poppies to take home or leave as part of the commemorative display started the previous Friday at the Treaty of Versailles Event.

The students who represented the school were very creative and welcomed visitors who made poppies or stopped to talk about the project WW1 Woodstock Then and Now.

Three of the students went on to visit the Battlefields as part of the Marlborough C of E School History trip later in the year. They listened intently to Mrs Onions who along with students Alice Hipkiss and Isabel Wheeler visited WWI graves in 2018.
